The well-known Araromi spare parts market at Agodi-Gate in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, has been engulfed by a fire.
The blaze, which broke out around 2 a.m. on Saturday, has caused the destruction of properties valued at millions of naira.
At the time of this report, firefighters are still working to bring the fire under control.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, as investigations are still ongoing.
This incident occurred less than 12 hours after another fire tragedy claimed the lives of a husband, his wife, and their grandson in a multi-story building in the Ori-Eru area of Idikan, Ibadan.
In a statement on Friday, the General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Yemi Akinyinka, confirmed the earlier incident, stating that the agency received a distress call about the fire at approximately 3:46 p.m.
