JUST IN: TANKER LOADED WITH FUEL EXPLODES IN ONDO
A tanker loaded with fuel has exploded in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The incident was said to have occurred at about 6:30 pm on Saturday in the Soka area of the town.
According to an eyewitness account, the tanker was said to have veered off the road and fell into a nearby ditch.
The tanker immediately caught fire, and heavy smoke engulfed the whole area, leading to a reduction in visibility and heavy traffic.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Ondo State, Samuel Ibitoye, confirmed the incident to our correspondent in a telephone conversation.
Ibitoye noted that no fatality has been recorded as a result of the inferno.
