
ONE DEAD, OTHERS INJURED IN OYO ROAD ACCIDENT
A traffic collision in the Eleyele region of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, has resulted in the death of a middle-aged woman, while multiple others have sustained injuries.
The injured individuals are presently undergoing treatment at hospitals in the vicinity, though their locations remain unspecified.
Recounting the harrowing scene, an eyewitness told our correspondent that, “A DAF truck loaded with granite lost control and swerved into the market while approaching the popular market from Dugbe end and killed one person in the process while several others were injured.”
Another source explained, “The driver of the vehicle lost control of the vehicle due to brake failure and subsequently rammed into the market.”
The Chairman of Sango/Eleyele Motor Park, Olanrewaju Qazeem, and the Iyaloja of Eleyele Market, Ramota Ajobiare, confirmed the incident that took place early on Wednesday.
They both verified that one individual lost their life, while several others sustained injuries.
Speaking on the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission in Oyo State, Mayowa Odewo, stated, “One middle-aged woman died while lots of others sustained serious injuries in a lone crash in the Eleyele area of the state.”
Odewo stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the accident.
