The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, paid a visit to Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State and his wife, Hadiza Umar-Namadi, following the tragic death of their son, Abdulwahab.

She was joined by the Vice President’s wife, Nana Shetimma, and the wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Fatima Tajudeen-Abass.

In a statement released on Saturday by her spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady expressed her condolences to the governor, his family, and the people of Jigawa State over the heartbreaking loss.

She said, “The length of days of man is the exclusive reserve of God, and no man can question Him when He chooses to call a man back home.

“God owns us all. God assigned time to us all. He can call anyone home at any time.

“God will condole you and the entire state. I pray my next visit here will be a joyous one.”

In his brief statement, the governor expressed his appreciation to the First Lady for her personal visit, acknowledging it as the highest form of condolence.

He affirmed that the deaths of his son and his mother, which occurred a day apart, were God’s will and beyond his family’s understanding.

Namadi also thanked President Bola Tinubu for personally calling him after the tragedies, as did the First Lady.

The wife of the Vice President offered prayers for the family and the state.

The governor’s mother, Maryam Namadi, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, after an illness, while his son, Abdulwahab, tragically died the following day, Thursday, December 26, 2024, in a severe car accident.
