POLICE NAB FATHER, FRIEND FOR ASSAULTING STEPDAUGHTER
The Lagos State Police Command has taken a 38-year-old man and his friend into custody for allegedly defiling and impregnating the man’s 14-year-old stepdaughter.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed the arrest in a statement released to the press on Saturday in Lagos. According to Hundeyin, the suspects allegedly collaborated to sexually assault the minor in the Okokomaiko area.
The case was reported by the victim’s mother on Friday at the Okokomaiko Police Division, Hundeyin stated.
“The survivour’s mother said that her daughter was defiled by her husband and his friend.
“The case was transfered from Okokomaiko police division to the Gender Unit Ikeja.
“The survivour is now carrying a nine-month pregnancy,” the spokesperson said.
The case will be taken to court once the investigation is complete, Hundeyin stated.
