GANDUJE, BAGUDU GIFT N54m DOWRIES TO 300 COUPLES IN KEBBI MASS WEDDING
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Umar Ganduje, alongside the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, on Thursday, presented N54 million as dowries to 300 couples in the second mass wedding ceremony organized in Kebbi State.
The beneficiaries, drawn from the 21 local government areas of the state, received N180,000 each as dowries during the ceremony.
The solemnization of the marriage was conducted by the Walin Gwandu, Malam Muktar, assisted by other prominent Islamic clerics. The officiating clerics urged the grooms to uphold the responsibilities of marriage as outlined in the Holy Qur’an.
A notable cleric from Kano State, Malam Aminu Daurawa, confirmed that the grooms were certified medically fit and financially capable of catering to their wives.
The mass wedding was coordinated by the NANAS Foundation, owned by the wife of Kebbi State Governor, Hajia Nafisa Nasir Idris. The foundation provided beds, duvets, furniture, food items, and starter packs to the grooms to support their new homes.
Speaking at the event, Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, advised the couples to cherish their unions and uphold good conduct.
“From today, your wife’s entire life depends on you. You must exhibit the best character as a responsible husband,” the governor admonished.
The event was graced by the APC National Chairman, Senator Atiku Bagudu, APC Organising Secretary, and other dignitaries.
