….As LCDA Set To Commission Over 15 Other Projects Next Month

Lagos State First Lady, Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, on Friday, February 28, 2025, led an inspection tour of the newly constructed ‘state-of-the-art’ modern primary health centre in Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

The First Lady was welcomed by the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, alongside top council officials.

While inspecting the ultra-modern facility, Dr. Sanwo-Olu praised the Mayoress and her team for their substantial investment in the health sector, emphasizing the project’s importance in providing quality healthcare services to residents.

Similarly, in a post on her official Instagram handle, Dr. Sanwo-Olu uploaded a series of pictures from the inspection, capturing key moments of her engagement with council officials and stakeholders.

Her post party reads, “This remarkable project, undertaken under the leadership of the current Chairman, reflects a strong commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure within the LCDA.

“I commend Mayoress Bada and her team for this significant investment in the health sector.

“Their dedication to improving healthcare services is commendable, and I am confident that this facility will play a crucial role in delivering quality medical care to residents, ensuring better health outcomes for the community.

“This milestone underscores the importance of prioritizing accessible and efficient healthcare at the grassroots level.”

Speaking to Hotjist, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, expressed gratitude for the visit, noting that it was the First Lady’s second time visiting the LCDA in two months.

“Today is one of the happiest days of my life. Firstly, I want to appreciate Her Excellency, Mrs. Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the Aduragbemi herself, my own mother, the mother of Lagos.

“I want to appreciate her for coming for this visit today. I must tell you, in the last two months, I think this is going to be her second time visiting our LCDA.

“And I must tell you, 105 bedded hospital in Ikosi-Isheri, and she said she has come here to inspect and see it herself.”

She highlighted that Ikosi-Isheri had been proactive in governance and infrastructure development, even before the implementation of full local government autonomy.

She also praised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his unwavering support of local government administrations, emphasizing his commitment to ensuring all council chairpersons in Lagos deliver impactful projects.

“The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has been very supportive to all the chairmen in Lagos State.

“He has taught us to work and make sure we deliver. He has zero tolerance for a local government chairman who is not working.”

The Mayoress further revealed that Ikosi-Isheri LCDA is set to commission 16 projects next month, including a new area office, a mini hall, a legislative building, a customary court, and road projects.

She hinted that the First Lady has agreed to return for the commissioning, marking yet another milestone for the LCDA.

“We are commissioning about 16 projects next month.

“I just whispered it to the First Lady that she’s the one coming here to commission the project, which she has even concurred to come back again by next month. So expect her again by next month in full force.”

The Mayoress concluded by appreciating all stakeholders, including council officials, contractors, and the media, for their contributions to the ongoing developments in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.

Residents and stakeholders eagerly anticipate the completion of the centre, which is expected to provide modern medical facilities and specialized services to the community.
