HIGH COURT TO HEAR NNAMDI KANU’S ALLEGED TREASON CASE
Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is back in Abuja before the Federal High Court to have his case on treason charges heard. Justice James Omotosho, a new judge, is hearing the case this time.
Additionally, there is a change of defense counsel. Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN) was hired by the prosecution, while Kanu Agabi (SAN) is now leading the defense team for Kanu.
Chief Agabi, Kanu’s lawyer, begged to speak in court shortly after appearances. He began by expressing regret on behalf of his client, saying that they now have to express their regret to Justice Binta Nyako, the prosecution, and his attorneys.
He went on to say that Kanu had been furious for a very long time. He said that Justice Binta Nyako’s assault was unwarranted. He expressed regret to his teammates, whom he had verbally abused.
They also apologized to the head of the Body of Benchers, whom they greatly respect, and the prosecution team under Awomolo.
Kanu was a decent man, Agabi continued, and people can’t have similar opinions. Agabi begged them to try to save rather than destroy and to allow for mistakes.

The prosecution acknowledged the apologies and promised to try their utmost to guarantee a speedy hearing of the case. According to Awomolo, he enjoys the warmth that the substance produces as well as the sensation of Kanu.
According to Justice Omotosho, Kanu might have suffered because of the trial’s duration. He claimed that while he is now 57 years old and was 47 when he was arraigned in 2015, he still has no idea where he is going. He claims that this might have caused him to say some inappropriate things.
On behalf of Mr. Kanu, Justice Omotosho also apologized to the prosecutor.
