NSCDC DISCOVERS ILLEGAL CRUDE OIL RESERVOIR IN ONDO
The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps claims to have discovered an illicit crude oil reserve in the state.
News reporters were given access to a statement by DSC Daniel Aidamenbor, the command spokeswoman, in Akure on Tuesday.
“The illegal crude oil reservoir was discovered during a joint operation with the Nigeria Army and TANTITA Security Service,” Aidamenbor revealed.
The reservoir was concealed in a forest in Obe-Akingboye, which is located in the state’s Ilaje Local Government Area, he continued.
According to him, the discovery was made on Sunday at about 2:12 pm., with no arrest made as the suspects already fled the scene of the crime.
“The Ondo State Commandant, Mr Oluyemi Ibiloye, has issued a stern warning to those involved in illegal dealings in petroleum products to desist or face the full weight of the law.
”He also reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting critical national assets, particularly in the solid minerals sector.”
