GWR: ALMA ASINOBI CARRIES NIGERIA’S FLAG TO SEVEN CONTINENTS IN 71 HOURS
The first African to visit all seven continents using a Nigerian passport is travel creator Alma Asinobi.
In 71 hours, 26 minutes, and 25 seconds, the 26-year-old Nigerian made an effort to become the fastest person to visit every continent in the world.
Asinobi’s final destination was Australia, after she had flown the Nigerian flag across Antarctica, North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Celebrating her achievements on her Instagram story, she wrote; “Our Nigerian flag is officially first and fastest flag to visit all 7 continents! I guess my work here is done. I can not wait to be homeeeee.”
Asinobi did not, however, surpass the Guinness World Record, which was achieved in February 2025 by Johnny Cruz Buckingham, a veteran of the American Air Force, who finished the effort in 64 hours.
Asinobi had previously said that she would be traveling using a Nigerian passport in order to draw attention to the difficulties that Africans and Nigerians suffer when it comes to passport privileges.
