
2025 U-20 AFCON: NIGERIA ADVANCES TO SEMI-FINAL AFTER PENALTY WIN OVER SENEGAL
Nigeria’s Flying Eagles advanced to the semi-finals of the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt on Monday.
The team secured their place after defeating Senegal in a tense quarter-final match.
Despite both sides playing to a 0-0 draw after 120 minutes at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia, Nigeria emerged victorious in the penalty shootout.
With the win, the Flying Eagles also earned a spot in the upcoming U-20 FIFA World Cup.
The semi-final match is scheduled for Thursday.
Notably, Nigeria has previously won the U-20 AFCON title seven times.
