PUBLIC COMPLAINT REGARDING RELEASE OF 2025 UTME RESULTS
By: Motunrayo Aniwura
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has noted an unusually high number of complaints following the release of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, which were published last Friday. In light of this, the Board is expediting its routine annual review process—a detailed assessment of the entire examination cycle typically conducted several months after the exam.
This annual evaluation covers three main areas: registration, the examination itself, and the release of results.
JAMB emphasizes that all candidates are given a fair chance to sit for the exam, and in cases where technical difficulties occur, affected students are promptly rescheduled.
The Board has expressed particular concern over the volume of complaints from certain states and is currently investigating these issues closely to determine if any technical faults were involved.
To ensure a thorough and unbiased review, JAMB has enlisted the support of experts from various professional and academic bodies, including the Computer Professionals Association of Nigeria, Chief External Examiners from tertiary institutions, the Educational Association and Research Network in Africa, assessment specialists, and university Vice Chancellors. If faults are confirmed, the Board assures that corrective actions will be taken immediately, just as they would during the examination phase.
