A Kano High Court has sentenced Adamu Isma’ila Arzai to death by hanging for fatally stabbing his friend during a dispute over a cap.
The incident occurred in 2016 while Arzai and the victim, Auwal Shehu Kabara, were en route to Bauchi on a business trip. A quarrel over a cold cap escalated, resulting in Kabara’s death.
During the trial, the prosecution, led by Wahida Isma’il, presented five witnesses. Arzai also gave testimony in his own defense.
Justice Muhammad Musa Karaye ruled that the prosecution had proven the case beyond reasonable doubt and convicted Arzai of murder, sentencing him to death by hanging.
