UKRAINE RECEIVES 1,000 FALLEN SOLDIERS’ BODIES FROM RUSSIA IN LARGEST REPARTRIATION
Agency Report
Ukraine on Thursday received 1,000 bodies from Russia that Moscow said were of fallen Ukrainian soldiers, Kyiv’s Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War announced.
In exchange, Ukraine handed over the bodies of 24 Russian soldiers, according to a government body that tracks Russian prisoners of war and missing soldiers.
The exchange, mediated by the International Committee of the Red Cross, marks one of the largest repatriations since the war began and highlights one of the few remaining areas of cooperation between the two countries.
