EPL: GUARDIOLA PRAISES ARSENAL’S ‘WISE’ TRANSFER STRATEGY
BY OWOLABI OLUWADARA
Manchester City Coach Pep Guardiola has extolled Arsenal’s recruitment strategy and long-term vision under Mikel Arteta, characterizing the club’s summer expenditures as “prudent” and emphasizing their evolution into genuine competitors on both domestic and European fronts.
In an interview with the media on Friday, prior to an important Premier League weekend, the Manchester City manager reflected on Arsenal’s ascent under his former assistant, highlighting the club’s systematic advancement over recent transfer periods.
“All I can say is they have been prudent. They invested what they believe is necessary to compete against the premier teams in the Premier League and Europe, and they’ve achieved that benchmark. So he [Arteta] discovered, I think, a team in that regard, a club, and progressively, window by window, Arsenal is improving,” Guardiola stated.
