President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, on her election as Vice-President of the Airports Council International (ACI) Africa.
The ratification of her election took place during the 34th ACI Africa General Assembly in Lusaka, Zambia, which ended on Friday, September 19, 2025.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Kuku’s emergence as a reflection of Nigeria’s growing recognition in the global aviation community.
“The sustained efforts and commitment of the FAAN management to making air transport in Nigeria safe, efficient, and reflective of the highest standards have attracted global recognition and commendations,” the President said.
He praised Kuku’s leadership qualities and foresight, noting that her contributions had previously earned her the position of Regional Advisor for Africa before her induction as a permanent member of the ACI World Governing Board.
Founded in 1991, ACI represents over 2,000 airports across more than 170 countries and territories, setting global standards and best practices for the industry.
