LAGOS ASSEMBLY MOURNS DEATH OF FORMER OSHODI/ISOLO CHAIRMAN SAMUEL AINA
By Aishat Momoh. O.
The Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow over the death of Samuel Aina, a party leader and former chairman of Oshodi/Isolo Local Government.
Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Security and Strategy, Stephen Ogundipe, announced the development during plenary, recalling Aina’s major achievements while in office between 1999 and 2003. These, he noted, included the construction of the current edifice housing the council secretariat.
Lawmakers took turns to pay tribute to the late politician. Ajomale Oladipo, representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency II, described Aina as “a leader worthy of emulation and a man of impeccable character.”
Speaker Mudashiru Obasa also hailed the late chairman as a father figure whose legacy remains unmatched. He directed the Clerk of the House, Olalekan Onafeko, to send a condolence letter to Aina’s family.
In a related matter, Obasa urged political office holders in the state to prioritise their health, following the recent deaths of some newly elected council.
