TIMI DAKOLO TO SUPPORT PARENTS STRUGGLING WITH SCHOOL FEES AS NEW ACADEMIC SESSION BEGINS
By Aishat Momoh. O.
Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo, has announced plans to assist parents battling to pay their children’s school fees as the 2025/2026 academic session commences.
In a post on his official X handle on Wednesday, Dakolo acknowledged the financial strain many families face at the start of every term.
“I know it’s school fee season, it’s not always easy, I know this first-hand. So, let me help lessen that burden a little bit,” he wrote.
The singer directed parents and guardians to send their children’s school bills via Instagram to @TheOyindaOlu, noting that receipts of payments made directly to schools would be shared as confirmation.
“Just DM the school bill to @TheOyindaOlu on IG. We would DM you the receipt of what we sent to the school,” Dakolo stated.
The announcement has drawn wide reactions online, with many fans commending the gesture at a time when households are grappling with mounting costs.
Reports show that as schools reopen across the country, the excitement of children returning to classrooms has been overshadowed by the growing burden of skyrocketing tuition, levies, uniforms, and textbooks. For many families, the costs have forced difficult financial choices.
Dakolo, who is widely known for his family-themed songs and community-driven messages, has previously spoken out on education and welfare issues. His latest intervention adds to a growing trend of Nigerian celebrities providing direct financial relief to fans in need.
