The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers who were caught attacking unsuspecting citizens around the Shoprite Ikeja and Maryland axis.

The suspects, identified as Segun Adeyemi, 32, and Abayomi Ajayi, 24, were apprehended by operatives of the Ikeja Division on September 29, 2025, following a swift response to a distress call. They were part of a three-man gang operating on a motorcycle.

Police spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi said the suspects were trailed and arrested in the middle of their operation, while the third gang member escaped. The motorcycle used for the robbery was recovered as evidence.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the gang had come from Mushin to perpetrate the crimes before their arrest. The two suspects remain in custody, while efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing accomplice.

Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the operatives for their swift intervention and urged residents to continue supporting law enforcement with timely information. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to rid Lagos of criminal elements.
