INEC ANNOUNCES PVC COLLECTION DATES, MOCK ACCREDITATION AHEAD OF ANAMBRA GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the schedule for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and a mock accreditation exercise in preparation for the upcoming Anambra State Governorship Election.
In a statement issued on Friday, October 18, 2025, the Commission said PVC collection for newly registered voters will take place from Wednesday, October 22 to Sunday, October 26, 2025, across registration areas in the state.
Registered voters who participated in the recent Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise are advised to visit the Registration Area where they registered to collect their cards.
INEC emphasized that PVC collection is strictly in person and that no proxy collection will be allowed. The Commission urged all eligible voters to collect their PVCs within the specified period to be able to cast their votes in the forthcoming governorship election.
As part of its election preparedness, INEC will conduct a mock accreditation exercise on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in selected polling units across the three senatorial districts of the state.
According to the Commission, the exercise aims to test the upgraded Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), evaluate its response time, and ensure the seamless uploading of results on the INEC Result Viewing Portal ahead of the election.
Mock Accreditation Locations:
Anambra Central: Awka South (Amawbia II), Idemili North (Nkpor II)
Anambra North: Oyi (Nteje III & IV), Anambra East (Aguleri II)
Anambra South: Aguata (Ekwulobia I & II), Orumba North (Ajalli I)
The specific polling units include Igwédimma Primary School I & II, Ububa Village Square, Ifeadigo Hall, Girls Secondary School Nteje, State Primary School Nteje, Central School Aguleri, Umunoke Public Square, Central School Ekwulobia, Urban Girls Secondary School, Primary School Ajalli, and RCM KDT School.
INEC encouraged voters in these areas to actively participate in the exercise, noting that their involvement will help fine-tune operational and technological processes for the main election.
Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, Director of Voter Education and Publicity, reiterated the Commission’s commitment to operational efficiency, transparency, and stakeholder confidence as preparations for the 2025 Anambra Governorship Election intensify.
