IGP WELFARE SCHEME: LAGOS CP PRESENTS N24.1M CHEQUES TO 22 FAMILIES OF FALLEN POLICE OFFICERS

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, on Thursday presented cheques totaling ₦24,144,997.49 to 22 families of police officers who died in active service.
The gesture, made on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, is part of the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Schemes of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
The initiative aims to provide financial relief and continued support to the dependents of officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
According to a statement by the Lagos State Command, the payment demonstrates the IGP’s unwavering commitment to officers’ welfare and his determination to ensure that the sacrifices of fallen heroes are not forgotten.
CP Jimoh, while presenting the cheques, expressed profound appreciation to the IGP for his compassionate leadership and sustained efforts to uplift police families.
“This thoughtful gesture strengthens the morale of serving officers and reaffirms that their dedication to public safety is valued and recognised,” the Commissioner said.
He extended his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for God’s comfort and strength to uphold them during their loss.
CP Jimoh emphasised that the Lagos State Police Command holds the memories of the fallen heroes in high esteem and urged the beneficiaries to take pride in the noble legacy of their loved ones who served humanity with courage and honour.
The IGP Family Welfare Scheme and Group Life Assurance Scheme remain vital components of the Nigeria Police Force’s ongoing reforms to promote personnel welfare and maintain a strong sense of solidarity among officers and their families.
