State governors and the Department of State Services (DSS) have agreed to strengthen intelligence sharing and coordination as part of renewed efforts to curb the growing wave of insecurity across the country.

The resolution was reached during a high-level meeting between the governors and the DSS leadership in Abuja, where both parties expressed concern over the rising cases of kidnapping, banditry, and violent crimes threatening national stability.

Sources at the meeting said the DSS briefed the governors on the latest security assessments and urged closer collaboration with state security outfits to ensure quicker information flow and early response to threats.

The governors, on their part, assured the secret service of their readiness to provide logistical and operational support to enhance intelligence gathering at the local level.

Both sides agreed that improved synergy among security agencies, traditional institutions, and local communities is key to addressing emerging threats before they escalate.

The renewed partnership is expected to bolster proactive security operations and ensure timely sharing of intelligence across states, as the government intensifies efforts to restore peace and public confidence nationwide.
