CARRAGHER WARNS LIVERPOOL IN CRISIS AFTER FOUR STRAIGHT DEFEATS

Read Time:50 Second

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has sounded the alarm over his former club’s worrying slump, describing their recent run of poor results as a “crisis.”

Speaking on Sky Sports following Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat to Brentford — their fourth consecutive Premier League loss — Carragher said the team’s performance has fallen far below expectations for a club of its stature, especially after a major summer spending spree.

He highlighted several key issues, including a lack of physicality and height in the squad, which has left the defence vulnerable to long throws and set-pieces. The former defender also criticised the team’s loss of identity and defensive stability, noting that opponents have easily exploited their weaknesses through counterattacks.

Carragher’s comments come as pressure mounts on manager Arne Slot and his coaching staff, with questions arising about accountability and tactical direction.

Liverpool, who began the season as defending champions, now face the challenge of rediscovering their rhythm and consistency to avoid further decline in the title race.
