The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, is set to host the third edition of the Police–Youth Dialogue, a platform aimed at fostering trust, mutual understanding, and collaboration between young people and law enforcement agencies.

In a statement issued by the Ministry’s Public Affairs Unit, the Honourable Commissioner, Mr. Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende, described the dialogue as “a structured engagement aimed at building understanding, restoring trust, and addressing mutual concerns between youths and the police.”

He noted that the initiative, which began after the 2020 EndSARS incident, has significantly improved relations between both groups and enhanced community policing across the State.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Pharm. (Mrs.) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, assured that the 2025 edition will be “bigger and better,” adding that sustainable peace and security can only be achieved when all members of society — youths, adults, and elders — see themselves as active stakeholders in maintaining a safe and stable Lagos.

This year’s edition will be held across the five divisions of the State between November 4 and 13, featuring an array of notable speakers, including Dr. Muiz Banire (CON, SAN) and Omoruyi Edoigiawerie, under the theme “The Power of Partnership: Cultivating Trust and Understanding Between Youth and Law Enforcement Agencies.”
