ANOTHER STUDENT OF UNIPORT FOUND DEAD IN HER APARTMENT

A second female student at the University of Port Harcourt was discovered dead in her Aluu, Rivers State, flat in the Ikwerre Local Government Area.
The student, who went by Adaeze, is reportedly an accounting 200-level undergraduate.
Adaeze’s lifeless body was discovered in her off-campus home in Aluu, a neighbourhood close to the university, on Friday.
As of Monday, when this report was filed, the cause of her death was unknown.
This occurred just two weeks after the decomposing body of Justina Otuene, a 300-level biochemistry undergraduate, was discovered in the home of Damian Okoligwe, her accused killer, along NTA Road, Ozuoba, in Obio/Akpor LGA.
Since then, the police have taken Okoligwe, a 400-level Petrochemical Engineering student at UNIPORT, into custody.
Speaking about the most recent instance, Chima Wokocha, dean of student affairs at UNIPORT, stated that some of the girl’s neighbours discovered her dead body in her off-campus flat and took it to a hospital within the institution.
According to Wokocha, the parents of the deceased female undergraduate had also been informed of the occurrence, and both the university administration and the police had attended the scene.
He stated, “Her body was brought to the Chief Lulu-Brigss Health Centre by people who live around her in her lodge.
“She didn’t die in the university hostel. She died in her off-campus residence in Aluu and the scene of the crime was visited by the management of the university, including my humble self.
“The police were there with us also. We acknowledge the fact that she had taken a substance and passed out because there was a bottle of a substance that was found by her side.
“The parents have come there and I think they are making arrangements to take the body.”
When contacted, Grace Iringe-Koko, a spokesman for the state police command, stated she was on her way to work and would provide our reporter with an update later.
As of Monday afternoon, when we filed this report, Iringe-Koko had not yet done so.
