OVER 20,000 APPLICANTS VIE FOR 4,700 TEACHING JOBS IN NASARAWA
The Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, NSUBEB, has received over 20,000 applications for the recently advertised teaching positions in public primary schools in the state.
The disclosure was made by Mr. Joseph Mainasara, a Permanent Member of the board, during the ongoing screening exercise in Wamba on Monday.
According to him, only 4,700 successful candidates would be recruited for the job by the state government.
To ensure that only qualified candidates are employed, he stated that a written test will be conducted for those who pass the initial screening phase.
Meanwhile, teachers in public schools in the State had complained of poor welfare packages and dire infrastructural challenges that demand attention from the government in order to improve the quality of education in the State.
