SIMON RULED OUT FOR REST OF CAMPAIGN DUE TO INJURY
Ligue 1 club Nantes have announced that their Nigerian winger Moses Simon will be sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.
Simon was stretchered off the pitch in Nigeria’s 2-0 friendly defeat to Mali in Marrakech on Tuesday night.
The 28-year-old collided with the Malian goalkeeper in the first half.
The former KAA Gent player was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.
Nantes have now confirmed Simon suffered a serious injury which will keep him out for the rest of the 2023/24 season.
“Moses Simon was injured yesterday against Mali. Our Nigerian striker suffers from a broken fibula which means the end of the season,” the club said in a statement.
“FC Nantes is already keen to provide its full support to its attacker and wishes him a speedy recovery!”
