WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL TEAM CAMP OPENS FRIDAY FOR OLYMPICS QUALIFIERS
According to reports, the Nigeria women’s beach volleyball team will resume camp on Friday as they begin preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers, hoping to snatch the only ticket from Africa.
The qualifiers will be held in Morocco from June 19 to 23.
Dare Kuti, media assistant to the president of the volleyball federation, confirmed to our correspondent that the players would resume camp under coach Kayode Ajilore
“The girls are preparing for a qualifier, which is coming up in June and they will resume camp on Friday,” he said.
“The list of players expected in camp will be released soon and made available to the media, although they (players) have been contacted.”
The women’s beach volleyball team won a bronze medal at the 13th African Games in Ghana to book a place in the qualifiers.
Host nation France was automatically granted one of the 24 spots, while the United States, winners of the 2023 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, has also secured one spot.
