POLICE DETAIN MOTORCYCLE THIEVES IN SOKOTO
The Sokoto State Police Command has apprehended Kabiru Abubakar, along with a few of his comrades, who specialises in motorbike theft.
According to the statement signed by the command’s spokesman, ASP Ahmad Rufai, and provided to reporters on Tuesday states that the suspect was taken into custody following the theft of a motorbike that was parked at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital.
The statement read, “One Kabiru Abubakar Alias “m” aged 25 has been arrested by Sokoto State Police Command’s Striking Force for allegedly stealing a motorcycle from where it was parked at Usmanu Danfodio University Teaching Hospital Sokoto (UDUTH), on the day hours of July 5, 2024.
“The motorcycle was recovered upon the arrest of the suspect, while the owner of the motorcycle was located and identified it as his.
“The suspect confessed to the crime and also stole one motorcycle at Rahamat Clinic, Sokoto belonging to one Naziru Muhammad ‘M’ Kano Road.
“He mentioned one Kabiru Alhaji Yaro ‘m’ Bello Way Area, Sokoto as his receiver, and further investigations led to the recovery of six motorcycles.”
The statement also said that following the investigation’s conclusion, the suspects would be charged in court.
