PARIS 2024: D’TIGRESS’ OPPONENTS, FRANCE, AUSTRALIA UNVEIL SQUAD
The Nigeria senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress’ opponents, Australia and host natio n France, have announced their squads ahead of the forthcoming Paris 2024 Olympics scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11.
The D’Tigress preliminary 16-player squad list was earlier released, with the substantive 28-player squad billed to be selected after their warmup game in Saarbrucken, Germany for a pre-Olympic training camp.
The host country France and Australia have released their full squads for the women’s basketball event with less than 15 days to the commencement of the global multi-sports showpiece.
Australia’s squad comprises a blend of experienced and young players like Lauren Jackson who will return to the court to feature in her fifth Olympics.
Other WNBA players in the Australia squad are Alanna Smith, Sami Whitcomb, Ezi Magbegor, Steph Talbot, Rebecca Allen, Jade Melbourne and Kristy Wallace.
Others include Marianna Tolo, Cayal George, Sara Bilcav, Isobel Jackson, Samantha Whithcomb, Stephine Reid and Tess Madegen.
France’s squad comprises Valerianne Ayayi, Marieme Badiane, Romane Bernes, Alexia Chery, Marine Fauthuox, Marine Johannes, Leila Lagan, Dominique Malonga, Sarah Michel Boury, Ilianna Rupert, Janelle Salaun and Gabby Williams.
