
LAGOS FIRE SERVICE SET TO PARTNER FRSC SECTOR COMMAND ON TRAINING
The Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye recently hosted a team from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Lagos State Sector Command on a courtesy to its headquarters on Governor’s Road, Alausa.
Welcoming the FRSC team led by Mr. Patrick Dung Davou, the new Lagos State Sector Commander, Mrs. Adeseye highlighted the mandate of the Agency, just as she reaffirmed the Fire Service’s commitment to saving lives and properties across the State.
She declared the readiness of the Lagos Fire Service to collaborate with other FRSC, especially on training and retraining of its operatives, stressing the continuous need for firemen to improve their driving skills to ensure safe and responsible driving during emergencies.
The Director also emphasised the importance of unlearning outdated practices, relearning essential skills, and embracing new knowledge.
Earlier, Mr. Patrick Dung Davou, the new Lagos State Sector Commander, stated that the visit was to seek enhanced collaboration between the two agencies.
He acknowledged the existing cooperation before his tenure and emphasised the need for more joint fire drills, training, and basic firefighting knowledge for FRSC officers, who often respond to emergencies involving vehicles and trailers.
The visit was concluded with a tour of the station’s premises and equipment. The FRSC team was shown the agency’s manpower and facilities, underscoring its capability to handle any emergency.
