The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Kaduna State chapter, has suspended its warning strike.
The association disclosed thisĀ in a statement by its chairman, Ishaku Yahaya, on Monday.
The union said that it made the decision to stop the strike in response to the government’s seriousness and commitment, demonstrated by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by the Secretary to the State Government, the Head of Service, and the Commissioner for Health.
āWe resolved to suspend the five-day warning strike to give room for more negotiations and await the government to fulfill its side of the MoU,ā the statement added.
Yahaya claimed that the strike, which began on July 8, 2024, was a huge success and that 100% of participants complied with their requests for an enhanced welfare package.
Ishaku commended the resilience, doggedness, and massive support of his members.
āTherefore, the strike is hereby suspended and you are expected to resume your normal duties on July 10, 2024.
āThe State Administrative Council sincerely appreciates your massive support and resolute in making this struggle for the betterment of our welfare a huge success.
