RIVERS CRISIS: AMAEWHULE-LED ASSEMBLY BARS FUBARA FROM SPENDING GOVT FUNDS

Read Time:33 Second

All of the Rivers State governor’s expenses have been suspended until Governor Siminalayi Fubara presents his budget to the House, which is led by Representative Martin Amaewhule.

This comes after the MPs handed the governor a seven-day ultimatum to come before the House with his budget.

Major Jack, the House Leader, made a motion to notify the House that the governor had seven days to submit the 2024 budget to the House before it expired.

REPS CAUTION PUBLIC OFFICIALS AGAINST IGNORING PARLIAMENTARY INVITES

Following consideration, the House decided to close the Rivers State Consolidated Revenue Account, prohibiting any state spending by Governor Fubara’s administration.
