Two Chinese nationals have been kidnapped by gunmen in the Kemta area of Onigbedu in the Ewekoro local government of Ogun State.

Omolola Odutola, the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, verified the incident in Abeokuta on Monday.

Odutola asserted, however, that the leadership is making efforts to guarantee the victims’ release. She added that the abductors had been in touch with their business to request a ransom to free them.

ā€œThe companyā€™s security supervisor reported that one of the expatriates called to inform him that Wenguang and Ding had been kidnapped and that the kidnappers were demanding money in exchange for their release,ā€ she said.

ā€œOur operatives in the Ewekoro Division, with the assistance of local vigilantes, military personnel from the Social Orientation and Safety Corps, local hunters, and other security groups, thoroughly searched the entire KĆ©mta Village forest for the victims but were unable to find them.ā€
