S’COURT COMMENCES FINAL HEARING ON KOGI, BAYELSA GOVERNORSHIP POLLS
The Nigerian Supreme Court has begun looking into electoral challenges that surfaced during the 2023 governorship elections in the states of Bayelsa and Kogi.
The governors of Bayelsa State’s Douye Diri and Kogi State’s Usman Ododo, who were proclaimed the winners of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, last year, are at the center of the disagreements.
INEC’s announcements regarding the election results are being contested by Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Muritala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), a former minister of petroleum resources.
