SUSPECTED GUNMEN BURN HOUSES, SHOPS, KILL MANY IN YOBE
Suspected Boko Haram insurgents invaded Mafa Village, near Shekau, the hometown of the late Boko Haram commander Abubakar Shekau.
The attackers raided the community in the Tarmuwa Local Government Area of the state, murdering numerous people and burning down several buildings.
The event occurred on Sunday at 4 p.m., while locals were coming from their fields.

Dungus Abdulkarim, a police spokesman, confirmed the attack but said the details are still hazy.
”We are yet to ascertain the number of lives lost in the incident, which occurred at about 4 pm on Sunday in the remote village.
“Adamu Hassan, a resident of Mafa residents, reported the incident to the Tarmuwa Divisional Police Station.
“The terrorists also killed many people, but we are yet to ascertain the actual number of the casualties,” the spokesman said.
