BOARD APPROVES PROMOTION FOR 20,867 OFFICERS IN CORRECTIONAL SERVICE, IMMIGRATION, NSCDC, FFS
The Board of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS) and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), have approved the promotion of 20,867 officers.
A statement by the boardās Secretary, Mr Jaāafaru Ahmed, on Saturday in Abuja, said the promoted officers cut across the ranks of Inspector, Assistant Superintendent, Controllers, Comptrollers, and Commandants in the services.
Ahmed stated that those who got promoted to the next rank in the NCoS were 5,329, while those officers who got promoted in the NIS were 5,112.
Also, those officers who got promoted in the FFS were 489, while those who got promoted in the NSCDC were 9,937, totalling 20,867.
The secretary added that the board also considered and approved the granting of special promotions to two NCoS officers; four NIS officers; one FFS officer; and two NSCDC officers.
He further said that the board also considered and approved the monitoring, evaluation, as well as collaboration with all the four services on career development courses.
āThe board considered and approved the implementation of a new training curriculum for use in the training institutions, as well as the approval of the implementation of a new scheme of service for the FFS,ā he said.
Meanwhile, the board has reiterated its promise to conclude the 2023/24 FFS recruitment exercise before the end of September.
