DETAINED BINANCE EXECUTIVE, GAMBARYAN’S ABSENCE STALLED TRIAL
The trial of Tigran Gambaryan, the jailed CEO of Binance Holdings Limited, has been halted due to his absence from court.
The officer from the correctional centre was present in court and stated that he spoke with his boss, who informed him that Gambaryan was very sick and could not be shown in court.
Justice Emeka Nwite scheduled the continuation of the trial in the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) alleged money laundering accusation against Binance Ltd. and its local representative, Gambaryan, for Friday, October 11.
Except for the second defendant, Gambaryan, all of the parties’ lawyers attended the day’s proceedings in court.
When asked by the judge, attorneys for both sides expressed astonishment that Gambaryan was not present in court.
Gambaryan’s attorney requested that the court adjourn so that he may report on his health status.
Justice Emeka Nwite then deferred the case until October 25 for a report on Gambaryan’s health.
