LAGOS STATE CHIEF JUDGE SWEARS IN 30 NEWLY APPOINTED CUSTOMARY COURT MEMBERS

The Chief Judge of Lagos State and Chairman of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), Hon. Justice Kazeem Olanrewaju Alogba, officiated the swearing-in of 30 newly appointed Customary Court members on Tuesday.
In his address to the appointees, Justice Alogba stressed that fairness is fundamental to justice and urged them to ensure impartiality and objectivity in their rulings.
He warned against any behavior that could compromise the judiciary’s credibility, advising, “Do not do anything to pollute the stream of justice.”
The Chief Judge also encouraged the new members to foster respectful and harmonious interactions during court proceedings, emphasizing the need for mutual understanding in their roles.
Additionally, he underscored the importance of professional appearance, advising the appointees to dress in a manner that reflects the dignity and decorum of the Court.
Earlier in the event, the Executive Secretary of the Judicial Service Commission, Mrs. Adebola Odeyemi, urged the appointees to approach their responsibilities with dedication and diligence.
She reminded them to uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of their duties.
The swearing-in ceremony signified a key milestone in enhancing the effectiveness of the Customary Court system in Lagos State.
