Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has commented on 2baba’s public announcement regarding his divorce from his wife and the mother of two of his children, Annie Idibia.

In a post on her Instagram, she reminded couples that when love fades, their children’s well-being should come first. She emphasized the importance of sacrifices as parents and stated that no matter the circumstances, one should not abandon their loved ones during their toughest times, even if separation or divorce becomes necessary.

She urged the public to focus on empathy and the mental health of children, pointing out that sensitive matters should not be aired publicly. She also criticized how social media often disregards the well-being of those involved in such situations.

While expressing her admiration for 2baba, Iyabo mentioned that the timing of his post was inappropriate, as it only added to the pain of the mother of his children, who is already vulnerable. She conveyed her disappointment with his actions.

She also sent a message of encouragement to Annie, assuring her that the difficult times would eventually pass, and prayed that both of them would find the strength to prioritize their children’s needs.

“A heartfelt reminder to couples: when love fades, prioritize your children’s well-being. As parents, sacrifices are essential. Never abandon loved ones in their darkest moments, even if separation or divorce is inevitable.

Let’s emphasize empathy and our children’s mental health. Sensitive issues shouldn’t be publicly aired; social media sometimes disregards the well-being of those involved.

2baba, I adore you both, but this timing was off. Adding fuel to the fire, burning the mother of your kids who’s already vulnerable is so unempathetic. I’m disappointed.

May you both find inner strength to prioritize your children’s needs. Annie, this storm will pass. Stay strong”.

Similarly, media personality Toke Makinwa expressed that she’s not advising anyone to remain in a situation that isn’t benefiting them. However, she pointed out that her issue was with 2baba bringing the matter to social media, particularly at this time. Toke mentioned that she is aware of what happens behind closed doors, things the public is unaware of. She reiterated her support for Annie, emphasizing that timing is crucial and that the truth would eventually come to light.
