A young woman arrested for inducing labor by pouring boiling water on her pregnant sister-in-law has stated that her actions were a result of anger that escalated beyond her intentions.

The victim sustained severe burns, particularly on her back, and is currently hospitalized for treatment.

The 20-year-old perpetrator, Jamila Ishiaku, from Dubeli, a community in Yola North Local Government Area, explained that the incident occurred during a heated argument with the victim and she acted out of blind anger.

“I didn’t think it would go this far. I was just angry,” Jamila said in an interview.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Adamawa State, SP Suleiman Nguroje, assured that the suspect would face the consequences of her actions.
