
28-YEAR-OLD MAN ARRESTED FOR IMPERSONATION, THEFT IN OGUN
The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 28-year-old Awoyemi Moses for posing as a student at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, and for phone theft.
It was gathered that Awoyemi was found illegally residing in the Needs Assessment Hostel at FUNAAB, pretending to be a student and was found with a stolen phone.
The Command’s spokesman, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed this in a statement obtained by press men on Wednesday, disclosed that when police arrived, they received a report from student, Abdulmadjid Mohammed about his missing phone, which was tracked and recovered from Awoyemi.
“The Chief Security Officer of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, reported that 28-year-old Awoyemi Moses was found illegally residing on campus in the Needs Assessment Hostel while impersonating a FUNAAB student.
“Upon the arrival of the police, a report was made by Abdulmadjid Mohammed, a male student, regarding a missing phone. The device was promptly tracked and recovered from Moses’s possession”, she stated.
Odutola revealed that during interrogation, the suspect confessed to impersonating a student and stealing a Samsung phone.
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed and admitted to impersonating and stealing the Samsung phone. The case was immediately referred and the investigation is ongoing. Suspect shall be charged to court after preliminary investigation,” Odutola said.
