GUNMEN MURDER RCCG PASTOR’S SON, KIDNAP WIFE IN NASARAWA
In Mararaba, a village in Nasarawa State that is close to Abuja, gunmen who are suspected of being kidnappers have slain the son of a minister in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, or RCCG, and taken his wife hostage.
According to information obtained, armed bandits attacked Austin Ifeji, the minister, in his residence in Mararaba, close to Abuja, early on Monday of last week.
It was reported that Ifeji barely fled after the thugs cut him with machetes, which led the robbers to kidnap his wife.
In front of his other siblings, the kidnappers also stabbed his son after he tried to protect his mother and further sliced him with a machete.
After killing the son, they dragged the wife away and demanded a ransom of N30 million, according to a neighbor who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Details surrounding her release were still unclear at the time this report was filed.
SP Rahman Nansel, the public relations officer for the Nasarawa State Police, stated that the command was unaware of the occurrence.
