ONE KILLED IN KADUNA MOSQUE ATTACK, 12 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
The Kaduna State Police have arrested twelve suspects involved in an attack on a mosque in the Tudun Wada area of Kaduna South Local Government, which resulted in the fatal stabbing of one person.
In a statement on Friday, the spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, Mansir Hassan, revealed that the assailants, who came from Malalin Gabas, Tudun Wada, Rafin Guza, and Unguwar Baduko, targeted Muslim worshippers observing the Tahajjud prayer at Layin Bliya, Makwa Road in Rigasa around 2 a.m. on Friday.
Before the arrival of police operatives and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, the attackers had already fatally stabbed a 28-year-old man, Usman Mohammed.
Following the incident, the police swiftly apprehended 12 suspects who confessed to having partaken in the attack and recovered several weapons from them.
The police said a full-scale investigation has been launched to uncover the full details of the incident and ensure justice is served.
The Kaduna State Police Command said it has significantly increased security deployments across strategic areas, particularly around mosques where such prayers are conducted.
The Command also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly to the police to aid in effective crime prevention.
It warned all miscreants to desist from their criminal activities or face the full weight of the law if caught.
