NASS Gives NNPC 7 Days To End Fuel Scarcity.
The National Assembly joint Committee on Petroleum Downstream has directed the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to as a matter of urgency put an end to the current fuel scarcity in the nation within the next seven days.
Leader of the Committee , Sen Kabiru Marafa made this known during the plenary session on Thursday while giving feedback to His colleagues on the meeting of the committee on Petroleum Downstream with NNPC group on fuel scarcity issues in the country.
He said that the committee at the meeting directed the NNPC group to ensure adequate supply of PMS and to ensure the disappearance of queues Nationwide within 7 days.
National Assembly correspondent Folashade Abdulsalami reports that the resolutions of the committee as presented by Sen Marafa was unanimously adopted.
The committee in their recommendations also directed all security operatives to ensure effective border control to avoid smuggling while directing the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) to double their efforts in enforcing price control and monitoring.
