NGO USING IMAGES OF MUSLIM MASSACRES TO PROMOTE ANTI-ISLAM AGENDA – BASHIR AHMAD

Read Time:1 Minute, 9 Second

‎Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has stirred controversy on social media after accusing a Christian organization of misrepresenting religious violence in Nigeria.

‎In a post on X, Ahmad claimed that Global Christian Relief—a nonprofit dedicated to aiding persecuted Christians—shared a misleading photo that falsely portrayed the identities of the victims depicted.

‎The NGO had posted an image of several bodies prepared for burial with the caption: “The Christian community is being massacred in Nigeria. This is a story that desperately needs more attention.”

‎But Ahmad swiftly challenged the authenticity of the narrative and the identity of the victims depicted.

‎“This propaganda against Muslims has reached an alarming and disturbing level,” he wrote

‎”They now shamelessly use images of massacred Muslim victims to falsely portray them as Christians killed by Muslims.”

‎“What kind of injustice is that? How low must one go to twist the truth and exploit the pain of innocent victims to push such a dangerous and divisive narrative?”

‎Ahmad then called for a collective stand against what he described as intentional disinformation.

‎This deliberate attack on truth must be called out and condemned by all people of conscience,” he said.

‎Ahmad’s reaction has drawn a wave of responses online, with users debating the authenticity of the image and the implications of religiously charged misinformation in Nigeria’s fragile security climate
