MOTORIST LIES UNDER VEHICLE TO AVOID ARREST BY VIO, CAUSES HEAVY TRAFFIC IN LAGOS

‎A motorist attempting to evade arrest by Vehicle Inspection Officers lay under his car to prevent it from being towed.

The incident, which happened during rush hour, caused a major traffic gridlock stretching towards the Civic Centre axis along Ozumba Mbadiwe Road in Victoria Island, Lagos State, on Wednesday.

‎This was revealed in a statement by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday.

‎The statement said, “A motorist resisting arrest from VIO officers has kept under his vehicle thereby creating a scene and avoiding being towed at Akin Adesola inward Ozumba Mbadiwe causing traffic backlog to Civic Centre.

‎” VIO officers and Police officers are at the scene as LASTMA officers manage the traffic emanating from the scene.”
