Former Super Eagles midfielder Mutiu Adepoju believes the new Super
Eagles kit will be the good luck charm of the national team in the
upcoming Russia 2018 World Cup tournament.
The Nigerian Football Federation launched the country’s kits for the
championship in London on Wednesday, with skipper John Mikel Obi,
Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi and music sensation Wizkid, modelled the
kit for the first time.
Nigeria’s new kits for the 2018 World Cup in Russia will be launched
on the field of play for the first time when the Super Eagles take on
Poland in Warsaw on the 23rd of March 2017.
An excited Adepoju took to his social media page to express his joy
and satisfaction on the design of the new kit, in the tweets he said:
“Behold the jerseys @NGSuperEagles will be wearing at the 2018
@FIFAWorldCup. It’s a YES! YES!! for me. Thank you @thenff and
@nikefootball”
“@NGSuperEagles’ jersey to 2018 @FIFAWorldCup reminds of our jersey in
USA 1994. Believe me, this kit could be our lucky charm in Russia.
#Nostalgia”
The jerseys designed by Nike, is a look-alike of the one wore by the
then National team in 1994 to the World Cup held in the United States
of America and the African Nations Cup held in Tunisia earlier that
year.
It has an eagle wing-inspired black and white sleeve and green torso
while the away kits boast of the full green strip in a classic
fashion.
