Ahmed Musa to captain Nigeria against Seychelles
Saudi Arabia-based forward Ahmed Musa will lead the Super Eagles out
against Seychelles in the absence of Mikel Obi.
Mikel has asked to be excused from this 2019 AFCON qualifier in
Victoria after he only recently returned from injury.
According to reports, the choice of former Leicester City star as
captain has already been passed on to the rest of the squad in
Seychelles.
Interestingly, Musa surrendered the captain’s armband when Samson
Siasia took temporary charge of the national team for 2017 AFCON
double-header against Egypt in March 2016.
Super Eagles pick NPFL stars for Liberia friendly
Rohr then overlooked him for this responsibility last year.
However, the jet-speed forward revived his career at the World Cup in
Russia when he scored twice against Iceland.
He made his Eagles debut in 2011 against Madagascar after he shone
with the Flying Eagles at the 2011 FIFA U20 World Cup in Colombia.
