Abdullahi Sad To Be Out of Libya – Eagles Clash In Sfax Over Injury
Abdullahi picked up the injury in the early part of the Super Eagles matchday-three 4-0 win against the Mediterranean Knights at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday and was replaced by Ola Aina.
He has battled to stay fit in recent months as he only returned to action for his Turkish club, Bursaspor due to injury.
Abdullahi also missed the Super Eagles 2019 AFCON matchday two qualifier against Seychelles as a result of injury.
He joins Trabzonspor of Turkey midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi who sustained an achilles injury in training on Thursday n the injury list ahead of the game.
The duo will not travel with the team to Tunisia for the game as they are expected to return to their clubs to continue treatment on the injuries.
“Great to get the 3 points and help the team. Unfortunately my injury has ruled me out of the next game, but I’m sure my Super Eagles will continue to soar! ??,” reads a tweet on Abdullahi’s Twitter handle.
Nigeria move to second position in Group E with six points following the win against Libya on Saturday, one less than South Africa’s who beat the group’s whipping boys Seychelles 6-0 in Johannesburg.
